After a busy summer, which saw footfall increase by 17% year on year, Battersea Power Station has recently welcomed some new store openings including the long-awaited M&S clothing store and hugely popular food and drink outlets Sticks’n’Sushi and Blank Steet Coffee.
Sticks’nSushi
The Danish-Japanese sushi chain opened its 15th store in the UK at the beginning of the month on the upper level of Electric Boulevard. The restaurant, founded in a Copenhagen basement in 1994 by half-Danish, half-Japanese brothers, is designed by Danish company Noma-Kyoto architects, and has a stylish bar, outdoor terrace and open plan kitchen area and counter. Inspired by the Japanese concept of Omontenashi, which means to ‘wholeheartedly look after guests’, the space is welcoming and minimalist, and comes with riverside views. So what’s on the menu? As the name suggests, the chain is well-known for its sushi and grilled sticks, and all the favourites are here including Iberico Secreto, with miso cured black Iberican pig, and Aka Ebe, with Argentinian red shrimp, gochujang and garlic butter. There are also new additions including the delicious Momo Nanban - fried chicken thigh in sweet and sour dashi.
You can also enjoy Temaki Setto, where diners craft their own open rolls with simple, fresh ingredients like wagyu tartare, kataifi, cress, soya sesame, avocado, sake-tamari marinated trout roe, snow crab, and yuzu, which are all accompanied by sushi rice and crispy nori.

Blank Street Coffee
If you’ve ever visited BPS before, you may already be familiar with the mint green Blank Street Coffee trailer on Prospect Way, as there’s nearly always a queue. Now the New York based, cult coffee brand, started by twenty-somethings Vinay Menda and Issam Freiha, has opened up a new store on Circus Road West, and its most loved drinks are all here including espresso, cold brews, iced coffee and teas, as well baked goods. But it’s their pretty, Instagrammable matchas that get Gen Z excited, such as their famous Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte with its pastel lilac and green hues. If sweet drinks are your thing, you might also want to try their violet lemonade or pistachio lattes too.
The BPS outlet is the brand’s 33rd London store and the mint green cups are a familiar site across the Capital. Fans of the brand can buy merch too including tote bags, reusable cups and even Blank Street Coffee socks.

Marks & Spencer
The new M&S store has finally opened its doors in Battersea Power Station and customers can now shop for the brand’s premium clothing and lingerie collections including the ever-popular Autograph and Rosie, as well as a range of famous beauty brands. In-house visual stylists have curated capsule collections that include iconic classic and seasonal trend pieces, and style advisors are also on hand to give advice on fittings and outfit building. There’s also a click and collect service for online customers.
M&S already has a foodhall on Lumen Lane under BPS, which is hugely popular and the brand hope to see a similar success with the new clothing store.
“London is a hugely important city for us and so it’s brilliant to be bringing the very best of M&S clothing and beauty to even more customers. We’ve had a fantastic response from customers to our existing foodhall at Battersea Power Station and this is a unique opportunity to grow our footprint at the site.” Will Smith, M&S Property Director.
