October saw the grand opening of the Park Hyatt London River Thames Hotel, marking the Park Hyatt brand’s debut in the UK. With an iconic address of One Nine Elms, the 203-room hotel is housed in a spectacular 160 metre 42-storey glass and limestone tower. The hotel takes up the first 18 floors while the rest of the building is given over to Park Hyatt London River Thames Residences, a collection of 103 Hyatt branded, high specification one, two, and three bedroom apartments and penthouses.
The second tower in the One Nine Elms development is the 57-storey River Park Tower, which will house 334 apartments, with the two towers connected by a stunning glass bridge.
Exemplary art and design
The newest Park Hyatt has been designed by some of best names in the business including architects KPF, interior architects Studio Moren and interior designers Super Potato.
The result is a modern interpretation of a classic English style with a neutral and elegant colour palette, marble bathrooms, accents of leather and brass throughout and bold William Morris print wallpaper. Room essentials include electronic blackout blinds, a Nespresso machine and a carefully curated and fully stocked bar. Floor to ceiling windows ensure every room is flooded with natural light with incredible views of the River Thames and Houses of Parliament, and from Battersea to Westminster and beyond. The combination of light and colour creates a peaceful and calm retreat away from the buzz of the bustling city below.
Park Hyatt hotels the world over are known for their incredible art collections and luxurious interior design and the London location is no different. Visitors to the hotel are greeted by Ebb and Flow, a steam-bent art installation inspired by the River Thames by Charlie Whinney, and throughout the building, works by the likes of Ewan David, Gabriel Leung, Ian Rayer-Smith and Jo Taylor can be found.
“This hotel embodies understated luxury, where personalised service and a warm atmosphere create a true sense of home and belonging in London. With its central location and thoughtful design, the hotel positions London in a new light, primed to accommodate discerning travellers looking for elevated experiences.”
Rike Erdbrink, General Manager, Park Hyatt London River Thames
