The sculpture’s arrival at Riverside Gardens in Nine Elms on 2 September heralded the start of a 30-day Totally Thames festival that aims to celebrate art, culture and river history in over 100 events in September.
Hippopo Thames – September 2014
Inspired by the evidence of hippopotami living in the Thames in prehistoric times, artist Florentijn Hofman has created a 21-metre long wooden hippo to be moored off the south bank of the river.
